A Silver & Bone Bridge Counter by Samuel M Levi, Birmingham 1912Origin: English Period: Edwardian Provenance: Unknown Date: c. 1912 Height: 3. 5 Base Diameter: 2. 25 The English silver and bone bridge counter, showing the suits and no trumps, to each paddle, the suits all hand painted, to a wire framed support, the silver base hallmarked for Samuel M Levi, Birmingham 1912. The piece is intact and complete, with some slight rubbing to the hallmarks. The bone cards are all complete, and flip as they should though

The paintwork

later painted in a laurel green and surviving from the late Victorian period in beautifully decorative condition

It is unclear if the painter was ‘J G Hölz’ referred to on the paper label to the reverse

The off white ground is beautifully pierced by tangerine and midnight blue
